Homemade immune booster – Superimmune jello

When the kiddos are sick they usually don’t want to eat much. That’s fine… I generally try to trust the body on this one.  It’s right more than it’s wrong.  This homemade immune booster is a supercharged jello recipe – a nice gentle way to keep their immune systems strong and nourished so they can bounce back effectively from illness.

Making homemade jello makes me feel like a bit of a superhero to begin with… which is always how feel when I figure out how to make a super healthy version of something that is usually thought of as a junk food.

This version is extra great cause it’s loaded with immunosupportive goodies like antioxidants and minerals…. and it takes about 30 seconds to makes.

You can get creative with what you put into jello.  It’s a great carrier vessel….  I call that “supercharging”

This version contains magnesium, vitamin C, vegetables and protein (gelatine is an easily absorbable form of amino acids).  You could also think of adding probiotics, Deep Immune For Kids, or elderberry.  Also great for the immune system.

Superimmune jello

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold fruit juice
  • 2 tblsp good quality gelatin (I get this brand)
  • 1/2 cut hot fruit juice
  • 3 more cups room temperature fruit juice
  • 1 tsp ester C with bioflavanoids
  • 3 capsules Juice Plus
  • 2 tblsp magnesium glycinate liquid (I use the Seroyal brand you can order it here

Instructions

  1. In a 4 cup glass bowl, add the cold fruit juice and sprinkle on the gelatin
  2. Mix well
  3. Add the hot fruit juice and mix until gelatin is dissolved
  4. Add the supplements to the remaining fruit juice and add to the original mixture
  5. Mix well, cover and chill until set (about 4 hrs)
